Gas carriers  LNG RIVERS  & LNG SOKOTO  in dry dock in Brest.

These two gas carriers belong to Bonny Gas Transport Ltd and are managed by Shell International Trading & Shipping Cy Ltd.
They were both delivered in 2002 by the corean shipyard Hyundaï Heavy Industries, they have a capacity of approximately 135.000 cbm
They are built with the Moss technic of spherical aluminum tanks.
They have entrusted Sobrena yard with their first dry docking.

Hull cleaning :      
The first job is cleaning with high pressure water, then spot sand blasting. One can see the trace of the forward wave.
The cables are lowered down the dock, they are checked and the shackles marked with white paint.
After polishing, the propeller is protected by a plastic canvas until floating again. The usual normal nut has been changed for a new one...

After several coats and perfect finish with rolls, the ship is now splendid. The red and white mark show the tugs where they can push.
